This position is located at the Hedemora City Library's school library central and Kerstin Hed's library.

The organization includes the main library, the school library central, and Kerstin Hed's library (a joint middle and high school library).

The library has 10 employees and is part of the Education Administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Kerstin Hed's library is a joint middle and high school library for students and educators where you, together with 0.7 librarians, will work with library services for teams and student groups in the school's various activities. Vasaskolan is a 7-9 school with 450 students. The high school includes nine different programs and has 350 students.

An important part of your work will be to strengthen students' digital competence and develop their media and information literacy (MIL). This will be done through guidance and teaching in information retrieval and source criticism. You will also lead reading promotion activities together with teachers to enhance students' learning in pedagogical work and foster a love for reading.

The school library central serves as a service and development organization for the primary school libraries in Hedemora. You will assist with book purchases and review the collections of school libraries, provide advice and support in library matters, and participate in meetings for contact persons at the schools. It also includes lending thematic boxes, book boxes, group and class sets of fiction, as well as reading training materials.

Some duties at the information desk at the main library are included, including Saturday shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in library and information science or equivalent librarian education.
• We expect you to have good IT skills and experience working with digital services.
• Driver's license B

You have the ability to work independently, find it easy to collaborate, and are good at creating contacts and relationships.

Experience working in school libraries or with youth is an advantage.

Since the position involves interaction with children and young people, a criminal record check will be requested by the employer.
